awards have been designed to recognise the contribution high profile role
models have given to the fight against racism.
Tony Woodley, Joint General Secretary of Unite says,
“We are extremely proud to be one of the main sponsors of ‘Show Racism
the Red Card’. This event gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to those
people who are working to eradicate the scourge of racism in sport.”
Derek Simpson, Joint General of Unite says,
“We’ve come a long way, but unfortunately racism in sport is still going
on. ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ does an extremely important job in educating
young people and using footballers as anti-racist role models.”
